Sheet Pan Beef and Broccoli

I love this recipe because it feels a bit fancy without being stressful. It also requires minimal cleanup, as everything cooks on the sheet pan. It is a definite keeper. The best part is that it only takes fifteen minutes to prep, so I can focus on other things while dinner cooks. After cooking, you are left with juicy beef and tender broccoli covered in a die-for rich garlicky sauce.

This version captures all that classic takeout flavor with the ease of a one-pan dinner. We’re talking tender sirloin, roasted broccoli with crispy edges, a glossy, garlicky sauce, and only one sheet pan to wash. Whether you’re meal-prepping or feeding a hungry crew, this dinner delivers.

How To Make Sheet Pan Beef and Broccoli

Marinate your meat and veggies, roast everything on one pan, whip up a quick sauce while it cooks, then drizzle and garnish. Let me show you how:

  1. Combine: In a large gallon-size Ziploc bag, combine sliced beef, broccoli florets, and red onion.
  2. Make the Marinade: Whisk together the marinade ingredients in a medium bowl.
The meat and veggies in a ziploc bag and the marinade mixed in a bowl.
  3. Marinate: Pour the marinade into the bag with the beef and veggies. Seal and massage until coated in the marinade. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 425°F and spray a sheet pan with nonstick spray.
The meat and veggies mixed with the marinade and a prepper sheet pan.
  5. Roast: Spread the marinated mixture evenly on the sheet pan. Bake for 15–20 minutes until the beef is cookedthrough and the broccoli is tender with crisped edges.
  6. Prep the Sauce: While the pan is baking, whisk together the sauce ingredients (except cornstarch and water) in a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil over high heat.
The cooked meat and vegies and the sauce before it's cooked.
  7. Finish the Sauce: In a separate bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in water, then stir it into the saucepan. Reduce heat and whisk until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
  8. Sauce & Serve: Once the beef and broccoli are out of the oven, drizzle the thickened sauce over everything. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions (both optional).
The sauce after it's cooked and then drizzled over the meat and veggies.

Substitutions and Variations

Beef: Try flank steak or skirt steak if sirloin isn’t available.

Veggies: Swap in bell peppers, snow peas, or carrots.

Sweetener: You can use maple syrup or brown sugar in place of honey.

Gluten-free: Use tamari instead of soy sauce.

Sheet Pan Beef and Broccoli Recipe FAQs

Can I use a different cut of beef?

Other types of beef that are cut thinly, such as flank or skirt steak, will work well as substitutes.

Can I use frozen broccoli?

While I prefer fresh broccoli, you can use frozen if needed. I recommend thawing the broccoli first and patting it dry to avoid having extra moisture in the dish while it bakes.

What can I serve this with?

This is a complete meal, but you can serve it with some cauliflower rice and watermelon for a yummy option.
