Honey Pineapple Glazed Ham
Ingredients
HAM:
- 1 bone-in Ham weighing 7-9 pounds
- 20 oz can sliced pineapple
- 1 Tablespoon whole cloves
MARINADE:
- 1 cup juice of canned pineapple
- ¼ cup raw cane sugar
- 1 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon ground cardamom
OPTIONAL:
- 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
Instructions
HAM:
- Preheat the oven to 275 degrees.
- Remove the ham from the plastic package and place it in a 9×13 baking dish face down.
- Place the pineapple slices around the ham and secure by using toothpicks about 3 per slice.
- Pierce the whole cloves into each pineapple slice about 5 per pineapple slice.
- Cover the ham with tinfoil, and cook the ham according to the weight of the ham. Approximately 12-15 minutes per pound.
MARINADE:
- With 20 minutes left of cooking time, add the pineapple juice, sugar, honey, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom to a sauce pan.
- Set to medium high heat and cook until the mixture boils and starts to thicken about 5-8 minutes. (if you would like the mixture thicker add the cornstarch to 3 Tablespoons of cold water, and pour into the boiling marinade, and mix until all incorporated and thickens)
- With 10 minutes left of cooking time pull the ham out of the oven and pour the marinade on top.
- Place the ham uncovered back into the oven for 10 minutes.
- Pull the ham out of the oven and slice and Enjoy!
